Albert Ernest Stanton

Albert E. Stanton, age 73 of Hastings, died Saturday December 20, 2008 at Hastings, Tendercare.\r

He was born October 3, 1935 in Hastings, Michigan the son of Harold A. and Genevieve (Buxton) Stanton. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1955.\r

Al served in the United States Army from December 3, 1958 until he was Honorably discharges on December 2, 1964. \r

He married Belinda Hughes February 23, 1973. He was a Police Officer for Barry County Sheriff Department for 3 years, the Hastings Police Department for 29 years and retired in 1991.\r

Al was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Hastings, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He loved the time spent with his family and friends , especially his beloved grandchildren. \r

Al is survived by his wife, Belinda Stanton of Hastings, a daughter, Jamie (Eric) Knoll of Byron Center, son, Josh (Becky) Stanton of Hastings, son Aaron (Jennifer) Stanton of Germany, his grandchildren, Ryan and Kerri Knoll, Isaac And Isabelle Stanton, Lou and Frieda Stanton, brother, Russell Stanton of Delton, 2 nieces and many cousins and friends.\r

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. A memorial service will be at 4:00pm on Tuesday December 23, 2008 at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings.\r

Memorials can be made to In House Hospice in Grand Rapids, Michigan.\r
