Ann Marie Roobol

Ann Marie Roobol passed away on June 24, 2024, in Hastings, Michigan, at the age of 66. Ann was born on August 12, 1957, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Clair and Betty (Hoogstraten) Smith.  She was a 1975 graduate of Gull Lake High School.

Ann's work ethic and dedication were evident in her 20-year career with McDonald's, where she worked in both Hastings and Gun Lake.

Ann's zest for life was reflected in her many interests. She was an avid scrapbooker, capturing precious family memories with creativity and care. She loved camping trips and excursions to the family cabin in Dublin, Michigan. Her commitment to the community was evident through her involvement with the Boy Scouts. Traveling was another passion of Ann's; however, she was always happiest when surrounded by her grandkids. She loved reading, and her enthusiasm for the Detroit Tigers was unmatched. Attending games and cheering on her favorite team was a pastime she greatly enjoyed.

Ann is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Orie Roobol, her children, Arie (Lori) Roobol, Andrew (Melissa) Roobol, and Aaron (Nicole) Roobol, her grandchildren, Bryson, Breelynn, Parker, SueAnn, Emma, Nolan, and Chloe, her brothers, Daniel (Diane) Smith, David (Rosemary) Smith, and Jeffrey (Missy) Smith, many nieces and nephews, and her loyal dog, Bob Barker,

Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058, with a service on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Living Waters Church, 1302 S Hanover St, Hastings, MI 49058.
