Arthur Joe Debruyn

Arthur Joe DeBruyn age 59 of Hastings, passed away June 25, 2013 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.

Joe was born on May 14, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Arend M. and Marian (Sluiter) DeBruyn. He attended schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Joe worked at several steel companies in the Grand Rapids area and was recently employed by CSX Transportation as a conductor for the railroad.

He married Susan Miller on September 22, 2001. Joe enjoyed hunting, spending time Up North, and enjoyed watching baseball. He was also a member of the Wyoming Moose Lodge for many years.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Arend M. DeBruyn.

He is survived by his wife, Susan DeBruyn of Hastings; son, Jason DeBruyn of Grand Rapids; mother, Marian (Sluiter) DeBruyn of Hastings; brothers: Arend "Mick" (Sue) DeBruyn of Grand Rapids, John (Cindy) DeBruyn of Naples, FL, Arwin DeBruyn of Grand Rapids, brother and sister-in-laws: Bob and Cindy Miller of Hastings, Dan and Jamie Miller of Gulf Breeze, FL and Eric and Donna Miller of Hastings; special cat Bubba, many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers at CSX Railroad.

A celebration of life will be held at Glass Creek Winery, 470 N. Whitmore Rd., Hastings, on August 4, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to a charily of ones choice.
