Astrida Alexandra Taylor

Astrida Alexandra (Gill) Taylor, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on November 23, 2021, at the age of 89.

Astrida was born on June 18, 1932, in Riga, Latvia, the daughter of Rudolf and Milda (Sedevald) Markus.  She was a 1952 graduate of Willilam and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  In 1953 Astrida married William Gill, and they were together for 22 years.  In 1977, she married Robert Taylor, and they were together for 32 years until his death.  Astrida worked for Williams Distributing, retiring in 1995.

Astrida's hobbies included gardening, knitting, needlepoint, puzzles and reading.  She enjoyed travel and camping.  Her interests included Michigan State Football, and spending time with heh family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Astrida was preceded in death by her parents Rudolf and Milda Markus, her husband Robert Taylor, and son-in-law Kevin Massey.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Massey, son Michael (Sharon) Gill, grandchildren Karen, Brian, Denise, Michelle, Katie, Ryan and Drew, and 13 great-grandchildren.
