Barbara Ann Sloan, age 76, passed away on October 7, 2026, in Hastings, Michigan. She was born on June 9, 1950, in Concord, Michigan, to Eugene and Mildred Irene (Wilhelm) Sloan.
Barbara graduated from Hastings High School in 1970 and later earned a certificate in Corrections from Jackson Community College. Throughout her working life, she took pride in everything she did, including her work as a bus driver and waitress.
Barbara enjoyed music, calligraphy, and movies, and she had a extensive doll collection that brought her joy. Above all, she cherished her family and friends, who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Donald Sloan; sister, Lori Hamisfar; twin siblings, Gerald and Geraldine Sloan; and her beloved dog, Kisses.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Eva Lynn (Tony Beckwith) Chapp and Brandi (Paul) Melkild; stepchildren of her heart, Debbie Lydy, Diana (Ted) Heath, Kirk (Kim) Lydy, and Derek (Barb) Lydy; grandchildren, Samantha (Brandon) Aiken, Bobilynn Chapp, Jacquilyn (Jacob) Chapp, Martin Melkild, Mark (Courtney) Salski, Jr., Jasmine (Eric Ramsey) Salski; and beloved great-grandchildren, Kalypso, Ryker, Tempe, and JoeAnn.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held this month, reach out to the family for details.
