Barbara L. Thorne of Middleville, passed away on November 6, 2019 at her home. She was born on September 18, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Edward Francis and Frances Patricia (Markulis) Reda. On September 17, 1960 she married Gary Thorne. She enjoyed many years of family gatherings at her lodge in South Dakota. She was fondly known as Gma to her grandkids. She had an amazing faith and love for God that she passed on to her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, of 42 years, Gary and granddaughter Grace. She is survived by her children Tracy (Doug) Warsen, Shelly (Steve) Nies, Jim (Martha) Thorne, grandchildren Matt (Danielle) Nies, Nate Nies, Will and Sam Warsen, Alyvia, Amelya and Jaymes Thorne, sisters Marcia Steele and Sarah Wolfert and sister-in-law Judy Sloan.

Barbara's Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church 805 South Jefferson St., Hastings, Michigan 49058, on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Fr. Stephan Philip officiating with a Rosary at 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Rose of Lima Catholic School would be appreciated.
