Benjamin Franklin Martz, Sr.

Benjamin Franklin Martz, Sr., age 70, of Freeport, Michigan, passed away July 16, 2022.

Ben was born on December 28, 1951, in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Alfred and Dorothy (Converse) Martz.

Ben attended Hastings High School and went on to receive his Journeyman's Card. He worked for Bradford White for over 40 years, retiring on January 6, 2014. Ben proudly served his country during the Korean War. On March 30, 1973, Ben married Julia Hinckley, and they enjoyed 49 years together.

Ben enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked tinkering in his garage and taking his dog "Cutie" for a ride.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jeff Martz.

He is survived by his wife Julia, son Benjamin Martz, Jr., daughter Laura (Brian) Martz, and grandchildren Max, Moira, Garrett, and Ellie Martz and sister-in-law Cheryl Martz.
