Bernard G. Watson, age 91 of Ocala, Florida, passed away July 11, 2018 at Carveth Village in Middleville, Michigan.
Bernard was born on April 1, 1927 in Cloverdale, Michigan, the son of William D. and Emma Mae (McKibben) Watson. He attended school in the Cloverdale, Michigan area. Bernie honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Iris Link on October 14, 1944.
Bernie worked for E.W. Bliss for thirty seven and one half years, until his retirement. Bernie and Iris lived in Ocala, Florida for 35 years, after retirement. In their later years they moved back to the Middleville area, to be with family. Bernie was a hard worker, building houses, working as a Sherriff Deputy and many other things. His hands were never idle.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Basil Watson and two sisters, Mildred Midling and Thelma Weyerman.
He is survived by his children, Larry (Connie) Watson, Terry Watson, Paul Watson, and Gloria (David) Durkee, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, Missey and Kathy Weyerman and nephews, Norman (Shirley) Watson and Michael (Pam) Weyerman.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 am also at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Rutland Township Cemetery.
