Brian Mark Brandt

Brian Mark Brandt, of Hastings, passed away unexpectedly Saturday August 6, 2016 at his home at the age of 59. Brian was born May 2, 1957 in Highland Park, Michigan to Robert Brandt and Patricia (Brandt) Twyman. Brian leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Laura (Briggs) Brandt, along with his three daughters; Brandi (Jason) Brandenburg of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Aubri Brandt and Sarah Brandt, both of Hastings and brothers Steve (California), Derek (Lake Orion, MI) and Don(DJ) Alaska. He also leaves behind his cherished grandsons Owen and Zane Brandenburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian was quite computer savvy (self-taught) and spent his entire career in the industry in sales. After 14 years with Midwest Business Systems, he became co-owner of Micrologic Technologies where he has worked the last 17 years. He loved rock and roll music, was a self-taught guitarist and occasionally even played the drums. Brian enjoyed camping at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and many other beautiful Michigan campgrounds. He was a Craft Beer enthusiast and avid Detroit Sports fan. Brian was very active with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Brian very much loved spending time with family and friends. Whether around a campfire, at a local watering hole, birthdays or holidays, he was always up for a visit and loved to talk. At the same time, Brian could be a great listener and offered help and advice whenever he could. In recent years his health slowed him down some but he was always happy to take his wife, an avid runner and bicyclist, to various events around the state and across the country. Brian was the proverbial "good guy" and will be missed by many.

Funeral Service will be at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 South Broadway, Hastings, Michigan on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the Service. Following the service, at 4:00 pm, there will be a gathering at the Hastings Country Club, 1550 N. Broadway St. in Hastings.
