Charlotte Anne Bonnema

Charlotte Anne Bonnema, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on February 18, 1937, in Imlay City, Michigan, Charlotte was the beloved daughter of Earl and Thelma (Foster) Caldwell. She grew up in a close-knit community and graduated from Imlay City High School with the Class of 1955.

On March 16, 1957, Charlotte married the love of her life, Roger Bonnema. Together, they built a home filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Charlotte embraced her role as a homemaker, pouring her heart into caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming place for all who entered.

A woman of faith, Charlotte was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pauline E. Campbell.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her husband, Roger; her children, Melinda (Al) Grashius, Roger (Denise) Bonnema, Jr., Jalene Watson, Tracy Heinrich, and Heidi (Dennis) Pennington; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Warren L. Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Street United Methodist Church, honoring Charlotte’s lifelong faith and commitment to her church community.
