Charlotte Lee Hammond

Charlotte was born on December 7, 1947 in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of Jesse and Violetta (Saxmon) Batterson. She attended Pennfield High School, graduating in 1966 and later received an Associate's Degree from Kellogg Community College.

Charlotte married Michael Hammond on June 30, 1967. She worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Battle Creek, MI from 1967 until she retired in 1998.

Charlotte's interests included quilting, reading and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and hitting the garage sales with her best friend, Laurie Van.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Vi Batterson, brother, Ed Batterson, son, Scott Hammond, step-granddaughter, Laci Washburn and granddaughter, Makenna Haight.

She is survived by her husband, Michael L. Hammond, daughter, Dawn (Chad) Haight, grandsons: Devin Hammond, Grayson Haight, brothers: Tim (Linda) Batterson, and Todd Batterson and many nieces, nephew's and friends.

Respecting Charlotte's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be holding a memorial gathering at a later date. Burial will take place in Dowling, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Charlotte, if you so desire.
