Cheryl Ann White, beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister passed away peacefully and joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Cheryl was born on November 20, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Marie Possett.
Cheryl attended Union High School, Grand Rapids Community College and Western Michigan University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and became a high school science teacher. She spent most of her life as homemaker extraordinaire and self-employed home decorator and designer.
Cheryl's relationship with Jesus was an important part of her daily life and she was active in the various churches she attended throughout her life. Cheryl enjoyed gardening, hiking, sewing, cooking, and knitting. Cheryl was her children's number one cheerleader for all their endeavors. Cheryl's husband, children and grandchildren were the loves of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marie Possett, parents-in-law Jeannette and Charles (Noreen) White, sister Nancy Tomakich, and nephew Charles Possett III.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dan; her children Brian (Lisa) White, Aaron (Paula) White, Kristen White, Stephanie (JP) Gaylord, Spencer White; her grandchildren Caroline and Albert White, Claire and Ian White, Abby and John Gaylord; her brother-in-law, Tom Tomakich; her sister, Susan (Bob) Lange; her brother, Charles (Rita) Possett II; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will take place on Monday, January 24 at 11:00am at Calvary Church, 707 East Beltline NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with a reception to follow. Visitation will take place Sunday, January 23 from 4:00-7:00pm at Calvary Church in the Gathering Place and again one-hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00-11:00am. The service will be livestreamed at https://calvarygr.org/livestream/.
