Christopher Thomas Hodo

Christopher Thomas Hodo, age 40, of Dowling, Michigan, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Maple Grove Township, Michigan. He was born November 21, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Tom Sernecki and Dawn Marie (Hodo) Rugg.

Christopher graduated from Delton Kellogg High School with the Class of 2004. He worked at J.D. Martin Steel for 21 Years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and tackling all kinds of mechanical tasks. Christopher had a special appreciation for old cars and loved spending time outdoors in nature. Most of all, he cherished time with his family and the companionship of his beloved dog, Odie.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Roe, grandparents Thomas David and Mary Frances (Parkerson) Hodo and Douglas and Rhoda May (Green) Roe.

Christopher is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dawn and Rex Rugg; his father, Tom Sernecki; his sister, Rustina (Nick) Christensen; his nieces, Karoline Roe and Raya Christensen; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him with love.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S. Broadway St., Hastings, Michigan 49058.

Christopher will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
