Dennis Lynn Whitehall, age 65, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2014 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He was born August 2, 1949 in Wenatchee, Washington, to Beatrice and Vearl Whitehall. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps starting in 1967 and was honorably discharged on June 10, 1974. He married Donna Williams in 1974 and they had five children together. He was a dedicated father and was very proud of his family.
Dennis worked at Alcoa Aluminum Factory in Wenatchee for over five years before beginning a series of home-based businesses. He had a bit of a mad scientist in him and would design crazy inventions in his spare time. That inventiveness spurred him to take up working with plastics, which he could cut and form into nearly anything imaginable. Dennis's faith was an integral part of his life and he always kept his Bible close at hand. In his later years, he enjoyed going to buffet restaurants and watching movies with his family. He would always do anything he could to help his neighbor. After retiring, Dennis moved to Michigan to be near his daughter. In his last years he enjoyed reading books, playing games and playing his harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and Suzi Blevins, his sister.
Surviving are his three sons and two daughters: Joshua (Rebecca) Whitehall, Joel (Brittany) Whitehall, Jared Whitehall, Jamie Nixon and Jeannine (Izaiah) Kruenegel, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Steve Bruns, Neil Whitehall, Helen Rorvick and Vicki Kelley, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Contributions may be made to Girrbach Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
