Donald Blough, age 80 of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away February 2, 2015 at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods in Byron Center.
Don was born on August 26, 1934 in Freeport, Michigan, the son of Jesse Silas and Doris Winifred (Belson) Blough. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1953. Don honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He married Ardith Kauffman on September 5, 1959.
Don worked for and retired from General Motors in 1997. He coached youth baseball for many years in Freeport and in Wyoming for his son's league at Pinery Park Little League.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Doris Blough, brothers: Charles (Gwendolyn) Blough, Kenneth (Lee) Blough, Jack (Ethel) Blough and sister, baby Donna (his twin), brother-in-law, Thomas Owen and sister-in-law's, Kathy Blough and Mary Lou Blough.
Don is survived by his wife, Ardith Blough of Wyoming, daughter, Kelly (Daniel) Bobeldyk of Jenison, son, Donald (Gina) Blough of Hudsonville, grandchildren: Sara Bobeldyk, David Bobeldyk, Jacob Bobeldyk, Emily Blough, Scotty Blough, brothers: Richard Blough of Victoria, TX, Hubert Blough of Freeport, MI, sisters: Imogene Owen of Freeport, MI, Joan (Ben) Christie of Freeport, MI, and Lorraine (Tom) McDonough of Alto, MI.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home, in Hastings.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Freeport Methodist Church, 175 Cherry St., Freeport, MI.
Pastor Susan Olsen will officiate the service. Burial will take place at Freeport Cemetery, Freeport, MI, with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #45.
