Doris Joan Miller

Doris Joan Miller, lovingly known as Joan, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. Born on September 1, 1938, to Clyde and Carrie (Thompson) Marble, Joan lived a full and welcoming life rooted in love, kindness, and connection.

Joan was known for her warm heart, always-open door, and a coffee pot that never ran dry. She worked at Wash King Laundry before retiring from Lowell (Magna) Engineering, but her true joy came from time spent with others. Whether helping out at the Elks Lodge, polka dancing in Bellevue, tending her flowers, or exploring garage sales, Joan embraced life with joy and generosity. She cherished camping trips, horseback rides, and especially the moments shared with her children and grandchildren — and their many friends, who always felt right at home in her kitchen.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by her loving children: Barb (Mark) Levandoski, Alice (Jim) Gielarowski, Dan (Renee) Dunkelberger, Brenda (Tony) Heath, and Andrew Rose; step-children; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her extended family of caring nurses, friends, and residents at Thornapple Manor.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to Noon on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with a Celebration of Life service at Noon at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750 S. M-43, Hastings, MI, followed by a luncheon.
