Dorothy May Burns

Hastings - Dorothy Burns, age 90, went to be with her Lord, October 14, 2010. Mrs. Burns was born April 12, 1920 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Russell and Mary (Stotts) Nance. She moved to Hastings in 1928 and attended Hastings schools. Mrs. Burns married Bill Burns on February 12, 1949. She held many jobs during her long life, two of which included working at the family business, Burns Refrigeration and Hastings Manufacturing for twelve years, retiring in 1965. Mrs. Burns was an avid bowler. \r
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Betty Taylor, her husband, Bill Burns and her parents.\r
Mrs. Burns is survived by her sons; Lenny Burns of Spring Hill, Florida, Frank (Vera) Burns of Hastings, daughter, Barbara Reigler of Hastings, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, sister, Velma (Bob) Slocum of Grumcastle, Missouri and three nieces. \r
In lieu of flowers and funeral services, Mrs. Burns wishes contributions be made to Barry Community Hospice, 450 Meadowrun Dr., Hastings, MI 49058. \r
Arrangements are by the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. \r
