In Loving Memory of Duane Arthur Jones
September 1, 1931 – July 8, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Duane Arthur Jones, who departed this world on July 8, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on September 1, 1931, Duane grew up with a steadfast work ethic, an enduring love for the land, and a twinkle of mischief in his eye. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later dedicated 32 years of hard work to the Kellogg Company before retiring in 1985.

Duane was the very definition of a family man. He poured his heart into raising his children, tending his farm, and creating a life rooted in love and purpose. A true man of the land, Duane found joy in the simple pleasures—tilling the earth, tinkering with John Deere tractors, and standing beside his beloved Ford trucks. His craftsmanship could be seen in the windmills he built, each one a quiet testament to his skill and spirit.

Duane and his wife Maxine built a life filled with adventure, splitting time between their homes in Dowling, Michigan, and Bushnell, Florida. Wherever he was, Duane brought warmth, humor, and a deep sense of belonging.

He is survived by the love of his life, Maxine (Christiansen) Jones of Hastings, Michigan; his devoted children: daughter Linda (Jones) Henion of Alamosa, Colorado, son Gary Jones of Hastings, Michigan, and son Kenneth Jones of Palmer Lake, Colorado. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory forward.

Duane is reunited in peace with his beloved son Larry Jones, his parents Edwin "Carey" and Ethel (Bird) Jones, his sister Colleen Shantz (Jones), and his brother Dale Jones.

Duane Arthur Jones will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, a hardworking farmer, and a man who lived life with quiet strength and endless love. His roots run deep, and his legacy will continue to grow in the lives of all who knew and loved him.  He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior at 10:00 AM at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058. Interment at Dowling Cemetery.
