Edith Jeannette (Weyerman) Hawkins, a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at her home in Dowling, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 13, 1966, in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Ruby (Leonard) Hawkins.
Edith was a proud 1986 graduate of Hastings High School. She had a long-standing career at J-Ad Graphics. Her versatility and commitment shone through as she worked in various departments, including delivery.
Edith was an active member of the Country Chapel in Dowling. Edith loved the outdoors and reveled in hunting, tubing, and fishing with her family and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ruby (Leonard) Hawkins, her half-brother Carl Pickens, and her brothers Lawrence and Donald Hawkins. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her brother Ronald (Peggy) Hawkins, and nephews Ronald Hawkins, Jr., Paul Hawkins, Nick Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Jeff Hawkins, James Bennett, Scott Downing, nieces April Bennet and Angela Christianson, aunt Florence Phillips and cousin Chris Christianson, who will continue to honor her legacy by living life with the same kindness and generosity that Edith embodied.
Her family remembers Edith as a great cousin and sister to all—a testament to the deep bonds she formed and the impact she had on her extended family. She had a unique ability to make each family member feel special and loved; her absence will leave an irreplaceable void in their lives.
