Eldon Weyerman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 28, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on April 7, 1938, Eldon's life was marked by warmth, humor, and a passion for his family and the outdoors.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Eldon served for four years aboard the USS Wisconsin, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. Following his military service, Eldon embarked on a career in construction and became a certified auto mechanic, showing a dedication to hard work and skill that was admired by all who knew him.
Eldon cherished spending time outdoors, with fishing trips to Minnesota being a highlight of his many adventures. He loved hunting and birdwatching, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. His love for motorcycles took him on numerous rides, while his time in the garage tinkering with projects brought him joy and relaxation. A lover of western films, Eldon held a special admiration for John Wayne, and evenings spent watching his favorite movies were cherished moments for him.
Eldon was a friendly figure in his community, known for his well-liked personality and quick wit. While he could occasionally show a grumpy side, those who knew him understood that his heart was big, and his humor could light up any room. He found great joy in visiting Richie's Coffee Shop, where he connected with others and told his jokes, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Eldon is survived by his beloved wife, Linda L. (Shriver) Weyerman, whom he married in 1986. He leaves behind his children: Julie (Alan) Wernette, Mark Weyerman, Lewis (Joquette) Weyerman, and Kimberly (Sams) Lumbert. Eldon's legacy continues through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Russel, Lynn, John Weyerman, who he fondly remembered throughout his life.
