Elizabeth Jane (Mullen) Sinclair of
Hastings passed away on September 14, 2013. Jane was born on August 7, 1930 in
Orangeville Township, Barry County, MI, the daughter of Stewart Mullen and Belle
(Hughes) Mullen-Doster.
She graduated from Hastings High School, class of 1948.
She married the love of her life, John Edsel Sinclair on September 1, 1950.
Jane was employed as a bookkeeper for many years before retiring from
John Deere of Hastings. She was very active in the community of Hastings: she
volunteered 3,500 hours at Pennock Hospital, was a member of Hastings High
School Alumni Association for 19 years, judged sewing and knitting for the Barry
County 4-H fair. She enjoyed her time helping step-father Leon (Tiny) Doster
while he was a Barry county sheriff from 1947-1952. Jane was a devoted and
loving wife, mother and grandmother, and had many cherished
friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Edsel
Sinclair; children John, Martha and Mary; parents Stewart and Belle Mullen;
step-father Leon (Tiny) Doster; in-laws Archie and Mildred Sinclair; brother and
sister-in-law Duane and Barbara Sinclair; and brother-in-law Norval Sinclair.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Ann) Sinclair of Hastings; daughter-in-law
Teresa Sinclair of Dowling; grandchildren Tara (Lenny) Case of Dowling, Jason
(Jennifer) Sinclair of Delton, and Jessi (Rob) Baker of Dowling;
great-grandchildren Hayden, Chloe and Layna Case; Lilyana, John and Ryan
Sinclair; Colton and Mason Baker; sister Elizabeth Nevins of Hastings; sister
in-law Donna Sinclair of Hastings, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings, MI on
Tuesday, September 17 from 6:00-8:00 PM.The funeral will be held on Wednesday,
September 18 at 11:00 AM at the Girrbach Funeral Home.
