Elwood Eugene (Al) Totten age 71 of Hastings, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
Al was born on October 1, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Antone Elwood and Rosie Arlene (Nelson) Totten. Al attended Hastings High School. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life, driving for Trieb Trucking out of Indianapolis, Indiana until 1993. Al married Barbara Ann Schepers on May 26, 1969.
He enjoyed watching any kind of sports on Television. Al was a NASCAR fan and he also enjoyed playing pool and darts. Al especially enjoyed FISHING. He was a member of the Indy 500 Moose Lodge.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Rosie Totten and his son, Daniel Eugene Totten in 2003.
Al is survived by his wife, Barbara Totten of Hastings, four children, Jackie M. Lusby, Brenda S. Stillman, Barbara L. Livingston all of Hastings, and Shelly R. Totten of Grand Rapids, fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brother, Elgin (Delphia) Totten, sisters: Joy Farah and Janet Decker, all of Hastings and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings with a 1 hour visitation to be held from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm. Reverand Richard Bell will officiate the service. A private burial will take place at Hastings Township Cemetery at a later date.
