Evelyn Doreen Sprague

Evelyn D. Sprague, age 85, of Hastings, Michigan died Monday, August 17, 2020 in Hastings.

Evelyn was born on October 9, 1934 in Hastings, Michigan and had previously lived part time in Akumal, Mexico and Vero Beach, Florida. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Sprague.

Evelyn was employed at E.W Bliss for several years before founding K&E Tackle, Inc. with her husband, Ken, manufacturing and distributing fishing lures throughout the country.

Evelyn and Ken enjoyed travelling throughout the U.S, Canada and Mexico. Evelyn and Ken were regulars at the Moose and Elk lodge dances in the past and enjoyed gathering with friends. She enjoyed camping, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn quit her position in the family business the day her first grandchild was born, and spent as much time as possible with each of her grandkids.

Her survivors include daughter, Kathy (Gordon) Howes of Hastings, Ken Sprague Jr. of Hastings, Son James (Jennifer) Sprague, Grandchildren Clayton Sprague, William Sprague, Daniel Sprague, Emily Sprague and step grandson Chad Howes. She is also survived by brothers Robert Bryans, Richard Bryans, sisters Betty James, Belva Barry, and Elaine Cooley. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Myrtle Bryans.

The family would like to pass along special thanks to the staff of Woodlawn Meadows for their many years of kindness and care and to Elara Caring Network for all of their assistance.

There is no memorial service planned at this time. The family request that donations be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Evelyn.
