Evelyn Ruth Symonds, age 84 of Charlotte, passed away March 3, 2017 at home in Charlotte, with family by her side.
Evelyn was born on March 31, 1932 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas Borst and Florence Kesson. She attended Nashville High School, graduating in 1950. Evelyn married Edward Symonds of Nashville, Michigan on March 30, 1962.
Evelyn held many jobs from 1967 to her retirement at the age of 62. She worked for Spartan stores, was a waitress at the Village Inn in Nashville and Fay's Dinner Bell. She was also the bar manager and bookkeeper of the Nashville VFW and was very active in volunteering with bingo and Penny Suppers as well as many other fund raising events She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies auxiliary in Nashville, Michigan. She also did study with the Witnesses of the Kingdom Hall.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Symonds and four siblings.
She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Symonds and partner Maria Braendle, and Becky Piper and partner Ken Rutheford, three sons, Kenny Symonds, Marc (Shannon) Symonds, and Dana Symonds, grandchildren: Kenny Jr. (Annie), Torrey (Nicole Serr), Nick, Jessica (Derek) Burbridge, Tom (Cindy) Piper, Mike (Sherry) Piper, two great-grandchildren: McKenna Symonds and Cassie Deprester.

A Graveside service was held at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, MI, on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 am. Pastor Jeff of the Kingdom Hall, officiated the service.
