Forest (Ike) Jay Price

Forest Jay Price (Ike), age 74 of Hastings, passed away on March 9, 2021.

Ike was born on October 28, 1946 in Freeport, Michigan, the son of Charley Price and Wilma Hinton. He attended Freeport High School and worked for Viking Corporation for 41 years, retiring May 31, 2007. On September 15, 1966, Ike married Gloria Stahl, and they enjoyed 54 years together.

Ike enjoyed farming, fishing, and drinking coffee in the morning at the Shamrock with his friends. He enjoyed refurnishing homes and was always lending a hand to his friends or family and spoiling his great-grand daughters.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dewey Price, Rockey Price, twin sisters Doris Heacock and Dorothy Lois Price, sister Ellen Henery, twin brothers Jack and Jerry Price, sister Shirley Ann Price, and half-brothers James, Leonard, and David Kidder.

He is survived by his wife Gloria (Stahl) Price of Hastings, son Derick (Christine) Price, daughter Darcy Morrison, grandchildren Ryan Brown, Megan Brown, Preston Price, Samantha Morrison and Ross Keller, great-grandchildren Madalynn Vela and Rozlynn Brown, sisters Wanetta (Dennis) Shedd of Battle Creek, Marie LaCourse of Vermilon, OH, JoAnn Benedict of Pennsylvania, Peggy (Ed) Noyce of Lake Odessa, Kay (Corwin) Tischer of Lake Odessa, and brother Mike (Gena) Price of Hastings.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058, with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 Pm at Freeport Cemetery, 200 N Maple Street, Freeport, MI.   Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home.
