Gail Marie Connor

Gail Marie Connor, age 74 of Hastings, passed away on January 25, 2021. She was born on October 12, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Loren and Myrtle (Sousley) Sawyer.

Gail attended Godwin High School. On May 25, 1963 she married Earl Connor, and they enjoyed 57 years together. She worked for Keeler Brass and later for K-Mart.

Gail was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church. She loved family. In her younger years, she bowled in leagues with her family. Gail loved working in the yard, landscaping and was passionate about flowers. Gail and her husband enjoyed garage sales and often shopped with lists from the family. Gail very much enjoyed the holidays and decorating their home.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ed and Bill VanStratten, Jim Sawyer, Larry Sawyer, Gary Sawyer, sister Patricia Sayer, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband Earl Connor of Hastings, Michigan, sons Randy (Linda) Connor and Victor Connor, daughter Tammy Connor, sister Bonnie (Joe Klocko) Balk, six grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058 and also on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Hastings Baptist Church, 309 E Woodlawn Ave, Hastings, MI 49058 with a funeral service at 4:00 PM and luncheon to follow.
