Genevieve Leah Mcginness

Genevieve L. (Weaver) McGinness, age 97 of Middleville, passed away Sunday February 21, 2010 at Carveth Village in Middleville. She was born August 11, 1912 in Dorr, Michigan and lived on the Homestead Farm. Genevieve was the daughter of Prentiss W. and Myrtle M. (Buer) Weaver. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1930. Genevieve married Harold S. McGinness in 1944 and they were married for 25 years when he passed away in 1969. She was a home maker most of her life and in her younger years she was a beautician in the Grand Rapids area. Genevieve enjoyed spending time in her rose garden. She was a life member of the Grand Rapids Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents , and a brother Eugene Weaver. Genevieve is survived by her son James McGinness and her beloved daughter in-law Sharon McGinness of Middleville, a daughter Sandra (Gary) Halfick of Meriden, Kansas, 3 grandchildren , 4 great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Respecting her wishes no services will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to Barry Community Hospice 450 Meadow Run Dr. Hastings, Michigan 49058.
