George F. Goodacre

George F. Goodacre, age 85 of Hastings, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.
George was born July 24, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of William and Marie (Rouse) Goodacre.
He graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1948. George retired from the Michigan Air National Guard as Chief Master Sergeant in 1986 after serving 37 1/2 years. During his service, George received his Air Force Commendation Medal.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, bowling, scuba diving, searching for arrowheads, travel, photography and Archeology. George served on the board of directors for the Navaho Western Water District in Colorado.
George married Brenda J. Clemons in 1971, and is survived by his wife, one daughter, Tambreia Lynne Goodacre, brother-in-law, Frank (Anna) Clemons, niece Tara (Collin) Dinsmoor, and nephews; David (Tracy) Kendall and Roy Kendall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Goodacre and stepson, Steven Clemons in 1980.
Respecting George's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan, with full military honors.
