Geraldine Inez Webb

Geraldine Inez Webb, age 84 of Hastings, passed away Saturday February 21, 2009 at Thornapple Manor .\r

Geraldine was born December 28, 1924, the daughter of Otto and Clara (Abbey) Tietz. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1943.\r

She married Clayton Webb in 1943, the marriage ended in divorce.\r

Geraldine was employed at Kelloggs in Battle Creek and the Hastings Manufacturing Company. She retired from Hastings Manufacturing in 1983 with 30 years of service.\r

Geraldine was an avid reader, a Nascar Fan, and enjoyed keeping up with the local news. She had a beloved cat Emmy, that she doted on. She enjoyed traveling out west to Arizona to spend winters and vacationing in upper Michigan.\r

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, son Allen Webb; grandson Matthew Webb; brothers Donald and Roderick Tietz; and a sister Virginia Sherry.\r

She is survived by daughter Betty Short of Monroe, MI, son Dennis (Jane) Webb of Hastings; sisters Barbara Endsley and Arlene Clark of Hastings; three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Geraldine also had a special friend, Ruth Patterson.\r

Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held, internment will be at a later date.\r

A luncheon for family and friends is taking place Sunday March 8, 2009 from 11:00am - 1:00pm. The luncheon will be held at the home of Daniel and Martha Hooten at 1127 Valleyview Drive located in Indian Hills, Hastings.
