Graham Fredrick Matthews, Jr.

Graham Fredrick Matthews, Jr, of Hastings, Michigan passed away on September 30, 2019 at the age of 49.  Graham was born on August 25, 1970 in Vernon, Connecticut, the son of Graham F. Matthews, Sr. and Zee Jones, his step-mom.  He attended Spaulding High School in Rochester, New Hampshire.  On September 19, 2016, Graham married Melissa Reid, his wife of three years.

Graham was a jack of all trades for most of his life, and he enjoyed working on cars.  He was a champion horse jumper/rider.  He loved the races, and would give anyone the shirt off his back.  Graham loved to cook, and he and his wife were Masterchef deadheads.  They were always trying to make crazy things in the kitchen.  Graham also loved the outdoors – kayaking, snowmobiling, and hiking, etc.

Graham is preceded in death by his son, Kyle Matthews, Grandpa and Grandma Boor, his Uncle Charlie, Grammie Matthews, his brother, Mike Wilson, and his cousin Tammy.

His is survived by his wife Melissa (Reid) Matthews, sons, Ezra Matthews and his mother Amanda White, step-daughter Molly Ricker, daughter-in-law Sara Ricker, son Brett Matthews, granddaughters Layla Lovebug, Riley AKA Monkin, Ella, and grandson Dominic, his parents, sisters Tina Sheets and Dawn Eldridge, step-sisters Cheryl and Debbie, step-brothers Bobby Hillsgrove, Gary, and Jim, and several nieces and nephews, best friends Ed Vacca, Asa Potter, Keith Tewell, and Tom Kenny, and many, many other good friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750 South M43 Highway; Hastings, Michigan 49058.  Dress will be casual, and a meal will be served following the service.
