Gregory Lee Parker lived life to the fullest—always ready for the next adventure, filling every space with camaraderie and energy. Born on January 9, 1966, in Hastings, MI, Greg was a gift to all who knew him. He had an undeniable enthusiasm for life, and a heart big enough to welcome everyone as a friend. On March 13, 2025, Greg's earthly journey came to an end after a brief yet courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in knowing that we will see him again. The countless memories that he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The son of Gordon and Dorothy (Varvir) Parker, Greg grew up in Hastings, MI, and graduated from Hastings High School with the Class of 1984. He went on to earn a Construction Management degree from Michigan State University, a school he loved fiercely—Go Green! His career began at Northern Boiler in Muskegon before he transitioned to roofing and trim carpentry, where he found invaluable mentors. With wisdom from others and his own unyielding determination, Greg founded Tritan Construction, pouring his craftsmanship into countless homes and building lifelong friendships along the way. His hard work, integrity, and passion for his craft left a lasting impression on all who worked with him.
Greg was a man of many passions, and if you ever tried to keep up with him, you'd know that sitting still just wasn't in his nature. If he wasn't working on a project, he was likely strumming a guitar, out biking, golfing, or simply strolling the golf course after hours with his wife. He loved being outdoors, whether it was a day on the lake or an afternoon cheering on his beloved Spartans. Euchre nights, backyard cookouts, bonfires, and sharing spirits with friends/family were among his favorite pastimes—Greg loved to get together, laugh, and create memories that will be told for years to come.
Among the places Greg cherished most was anywhere "up north," but especially Drummond Island and Traverse City, where he found both peace and adventure. Yet the greatest journey of his life began on September 1, 2018, when he married his best friend and true love, Karen (Tebo) Boonstra. He never missed a chance to tell the world she was his "hunny" and that he had found the love of his life. Their marriage was effortless, filled with laughter, kindness, mutual respect, and a deep, unwavering love.
Greg's heart grew even fuller when he became a Dad and a Papa through his marriage to Karen—two roles he fully embraced and cherished deeply. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Marie Parker; his children, Tucker (Anna) Boonstra and Sydnee (Jordan) Ruger; and his adored grandchildren, Elijah, Flynn, Tauren, Luke, and Israel. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jeff (Becky) Parker and Tom (Laura) Parker, along with many special nieces, nephews, and the extended Tebo family, who welcomed him as one of their own. Greg's circle of friends was vast, spanning decades and distances, with some friendships dating back to when he was just five years old. His people loved him fiercely.
Greg was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gordon and Dorothy Parker.
Greg's laughter, kindness, and boundless energy will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was filled with music, adventure, and an undeniable passion for making every moment count. Though he has left this world, his spirit will continue to inspire those lucky enough to have known and loved him.
