Harley G. Wilson age 90 of Hastings, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013.
He was born on December 5, 1922, the son of George and Sadie (Sheathelm) Wilson.
Harley attended Thornapple Kellogg High School in Middleville, graduating in 1942. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from March 3, 1943 until his discharge on March 15, 1946.
Harley was employed at Motor Wheel Corp in Lansing, Michigan from 1942 until his retirement in 1980. Harley interests included fishing, building crafts, playing cards and helping the neighbors. He also enjoyed eating at Bob Evans in Lansing.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, Herbert, Allan and Amos Wilson and half brother, Walter Wilson, sister, Marjorie Ritsema, sister-in-law, Winifred Wilson, Eva Wilson and half sister-in-law, Ivah Wilson and brothers-in-law, John Ritsema, Henry Ritsema.
Harley is survived by his sisters, Martha (Roger) Johnson of Kentwood, MI and Mae (Frank) Ellsworth of Hastings, MI, sister-in-law, Donna Wilson Pastoor and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Serivice will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Girrbach Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Yankee Springs Township Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #45 of Hastings.
