Harry Wayne McCollum age 85 of Nashville, Michigan passed away Wednesday October 12, 2011 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings. He was born February 20, 1926 in Plainfield, Michigan the son of William and Pearl (Hackert) McCollum. He attended Middleville School's . Harry was married on August 24, 1946 to Wilma Bass at the home of her sister Norma Barlow. Harry was employed at Newton / Hyde Lumber Yard, The Bookcase, Barry County Road Commission, and retired in 1982 from Hastings Manufacturing Co. after 33 years. Harry and Wilma lived in Hastings until they bought their first home on Thornapple Lake in 1950. They purchased a winter home in Bonita Springs, Florida in 1977. Harry bowled for 25 years on various leagues: he enjoyed hunting, fishing in Florida and Michigan, boating, wood crafting, tinkering in the garage, and collecting antiques. Harry and Wilma renewed their wedding vows on their 50th anniversary at the Hastings Grace Lutheran Church, to celebrate they took a cruise to the Caribbean . On August 24, 2011 they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at their home with family and friends. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wilma McCollum of Nashville, his two daughters; Linda (Glenn) DeLong, and Donna McCollum, grandchildren; Jayson, Jenny, Heather, Angie, Don, and Elizabeth, great-grandchildren; Ashley, Bria, Brittnie, Mandy, Charlene, Jasmine, great-great grandchildren; Quentine and Brianna, a sister, Margaret Mullett. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Glenn, Robert, Jim, George, and Tom McCollum, sisters; Ruth Miller, Alice Campbell, Laura Smith, son in-law, Doug Brooks.
