Hugh C. Osborn

Hugh C. Osborn, age 84 of Delton, died Monday December 15, 2008 at Hastings Tendercare.\r

He was born September 9, 1924 in Watertown , New York, the son of Richard O. and Irene C. (Cowan) Osborn. \r

Hugh was raised in Newton Falls, New York and graduated from there in 1942.\r

Hugh served in the United States Navy from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1946.\r

He went on to Clarkson College receiving scholarships in both baseball and hockey.\r

Hugh married Carol J. Simpson August 23, 1952. They lived in Oregon for 10 years. He moved to Michigan in 1972. \r

He retired from Williams-Gray Company after more than 20 years. His hobbies were woodworking and golf.\r

Surviving is his wife Carol of Delton, his children, Rick (Carrie) Osborn of Westland, MI., Mike (Julie) Osborn of Broken Arrow, Az., John (Pam ) Osborn of Chandler, Az., Sally (Gordon) Birdsall, Richland, MI., Sue Bowerman of Lake Odessa, MI., Carol (Jerry) Tonaina of Lockport NY. 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. \r

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard.\r

Memorial Contribution can be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, 200 N. Park St., Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007.\r

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.\r
