Isabell Mae Herring

Isabell Mae Herring, age 85, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in the loving care of her niece.

Isabell was born on April 21, 1940, in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Bert Carol and Eunice Isabell (Hull) Elliott. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1958 and later worked as a cashier at the Ben Franklin store, where many came to know her friendly smile and kind spirit.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time outdoors, exploring garage sales, reading, collecting antiques, and walking the property she loved. Isabell had a gentle heart and was dearly loved by all who met her.

She is survived by her brothers, Bernie Elliott and Mike Elliott; her sister, Ruth Kosbar; and dear family friend Tony Pyrzynski, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

In lieu of a formal service, Isabell wished for everyone to celebrate her life in their own way, remembering the moments shared and the happiness she brought to others. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
