Jack Forrest Coykendall

Jack Forrest Coykendall of Hastings died on January 28, 2020 in Hastings Township, Michigan. He was born July 19, 1935 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Guy and Doroth (Downs) Coykendall. He graduated from Hastings Hight School in 1953. He worked in the fish pole factory in Hastings until it closed. He moved to Lake Odessa, Michigan and worked in a cannery. He moved to Detroit, Michigan and took a course in meat cutting. Unable to find work, he moved to Battle Creek, Michigan where he worked at an extrusion factory. He retired from McGraw Edison Air Conditioning in 1980. Jack was a member of First United Church of Hastings. He enjoyed watching black and white western movies, taking walks and had many acquaintances he talked too.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Willis and Cora Coykendall and Roy and Della Downs, cousins Willard and Zane Nash and David Downs. He is survived by Brothers Donald Coykendall of Hastings, Michigan and Duane Coykendall of Brighton, Michigan, nephew Daniel Coykendall of Middleville, Michigan, nieces Teresa Sullpe of Mattawan, Michigan and Susan Coykendall of Hastings.
