Jack Edward Echtinaw

Jack E. Echtinaw, age 82, of Hastings, passed away June 29, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Hastings, Michigan, February 16, 1928, the son of Edward and Winifred (Wellman) Echtinaw. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1946 and entered the US Army. Jack was honorably discharged in 1948. He then joined his father in business. He married Mary Ann McEwan on June 24, 1950. In 1954 he founded his own business, ""Jack Echtinaw Service"", later expanding it to include fuel delivery and a Chrysler car dealership in Hastings. Jack was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and Host Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers in Hastings and Gun Lake. He enjoyed building and flying R.C. airplanes, golfing and spending time with his family. \r
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann, sons; Brian (Amy) Echtinaw of Sterling Heights, MI, Steven (Claire) Echtinaw of Ada, MI, grandchildren, Peter, Alyssa and Maya, sister, Joyce (Bill) Towne of Hastings, MI and many nieces and nephews. \r
Memorial contributions may be made to Barry Community Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings, MI.\r
Private family services are being held at a later date. \r
