Jacqueline Evelyn Yoesting, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Hastings, Michigan, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 26, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Francis and Ruth (Whirl) Mueller.
Jacqueline graduated from St. Pius Catholic School in Milwaukee. She worked for Aetna and Plastic Surgery Associates of Grand Rapids before retiring as an administrative assistant at Holy Family Catholic Church in Caledonia.
She lived a joyful, social, and generous life. She loved golfing, bowling, and playing in her bridge club. She was an enthusiastic cook and hostess, always ready with a good joke and a contagious laugh. A nurturing grandmother and the life of every gathering, she brought warmth wherever she went. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and attending social events.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Robert Stanley Yoesting; her second husband of 10 years, Walter J. Peterson; her brother and sister‑in‑law Francis and Judy Mueller; and sister‑in‑law Gayle Mueller.
She is lovingly survived by her children Julie Lynn Yoesting and Samuel Ross Yoesting; grandchildren Daniel Robert (Stephanie) Lynn, Zachary Francis (Danielle Ruth) Yoesting, Samantha Renee Yoesting, and Crystine Nicole Yoesting, stepdaughter Dawn (Michael) Williams of Piedmont, CA; seven great‑grandchildren; siblings Raymond J. Mueller and Geri (Dick) Schul; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Hastings Educational Enrichment Foundation, Holy Family Catholic Church, or St. Francis of Assisi Church of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Ave SE, Caledonia, MI 49316, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hastings. Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home.
