James E. Durbin, age 75 of Hastings, passed away September 17, 2018 at his residence.
Jim was born April 5, 1943 in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Edward James and Ella Wilhelmina (Wurm) Durbin. He graduated from Hastings High School. Jim married Nancy Ann Bird on June 13, 1975.
Jim worked as a Tool and Die Maker at General Tire in Ionia, E.W. Bliss in Hastings and ITM. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed fishing and going camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward "Jim" and Ella Durbin, brother, John P. Durbin and infant sister, Doreen M. Durbin.
Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Durbin, daughters, Wendy (Terry) Burns of Lansing, Tracy Deuyour of Hollywood, FL, Debra Pentecost (Gary) Geiger of Lake Odessa, son, Mark (Michelle) Pentecost of Anchorage, Alaska, grandsons, Drew Geiger, Brandon Burns, Zack Deuyour, Josh Deuyour, granddaughter, Paige Abernathy, great-grandson, Carson Burns, and great-granddaughter, Addy Frazer, sisters, Deanna (Tim) Kidder, Delores Durbin, Delilah (Gordon) Bennett and Dawn (Forest) Kraus, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Great- Lakes Caring Hospice (greatlakescaring.com).
Respecting Jim's wishes, a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
