James Howard Harrington, age 73 of Hastings, Michigan, passed away May 1, 2017 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.
James was born June 12, 1943 in Hastings, Michigan, the son of, Howard and Marie (Nye) Harrington. He attended Middleville and Hastings Schools.
Jim retired from Hastings Manufacturing. He was a life member of the Hastings Elks Lodge, serving as Exalted Ruler, twice. His hobbies included bowling, golf, NASCAR and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tracy Gallup, brothers, Ed and Tom Harrington, step-brother, Elwood Travis and step-sister, Marcia (Travis) Barry.
Jim is survived by his sons, Jay Harrington of Hastings, Bill Harrington of Kalamazoo, daughter, Teresa Harrington of Hastings, grandchildren: Staci (Michael) Johnson, James Aldrich, Elizabeth and Danielle Wilkins, David (KayCee) Born, Jessica Harrington, sisters, Marilyn (Curt) Awrey, Joyce (Gene) Sanderson and Shirley Raymond, as well as cousin, Gil Tate.
Honoring Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and ad memorial service will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Ron and Mary Armour.
