James Milo Partridge I.

September 28, 1930 — March 20, 2014

The first day of Spring, March 20, 2014, our beloved earthly father, James M. Partridge I. went home to be with his personal Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

He began life on September 28, 1930, born to proud parents, Lily and Milo Partridge. He resided in Hastings most of his life, graduating from Hastings High School in 1948. He attended Baily Tech in St. Louis, Missouri, receiving a certificate in Diesel Technology. He then enlisted in the US Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years aboard "his" ship the USS Salem.

When he was honorably discharged, his electronics training led him to a career with IBM Corporation, where he retired.

After retirement he moved to Hooker, Oklahoma, where he resided with his wife, Doris for 25 years. In his most recent span of life he moved back to Hastings to enjoy his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by Mary Arnold, the mother of their three children, Rosemary Partridge, Frank and Ginger Partridge, James and Lainie Partridge II. Grandchildren, Mathew and Sara Partridge, Lindsey Partridge, Katherine Partridge, Jake Partridge. Great-grandchildren, Donovan and Isabella.

He was preceded in death, by first wife Norma, his parents and much loved sister, Mildred Wiley.

Dad enjoyed pheasant hunting, and was a life long member of the BSCA Buick Club, and he upheld the motto "Always go fast with class" with his 1987 Buick "T" Regal. He was also a member of American Legion Post 45 of Hastings.

Full Military honors and burial will take place at Fort Custer Cemetery in Battle Creek at a later date.
