James Philip Turnes, age 49 of Middleville passed away, Thursday, October 20, 2011, unexpectedly. He was born May 31, 1962, the son of Roger Philip Turnes and Eva Jean (Fillingham) Richards. James attended Thornapple Kellogg School of Middleville and Hastings Schools. He worked as a crane and jackhammer operator in Florida, diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator, a semi driver for Bob Henry and also did carpentry work. James enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, drawing, restoring things and wood carving.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Roger Philip Turnes of Caledonia, MI; daughter, Chelsea Elizabeth Turnes of Cutlerville, MI; grandson, Jayce Williams of Cutlerville, MI; father and stepmother, Roger and Terri Turnes of Lehi, UT; mother and stepfather, Eva and Thomas Richards of Middleville, MI; brother, Michael Turnes of Hastings; sister, Sherri Dawson of Orangeville, MI; two step-sisters: Shelly Moye and Kelly Baker of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
