Janet Ann Shriber

Janet Ann (Hubbell) Shriber, age 78 of Hastings, went home to her heavenly father on December 17, 2018, peacefully at Kairos Dwelling home in Kalamazoo, MI, following a massive stroke.

Janet was born December 21, 1939 in Lake Odessa, Michigan, the daughter of Lorence and Jessie (Wilson) Hubbell.  She graduated from Hastings High School in 1958.

Janet was a homemaker all of her life and a wonderful cook.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens in her earlier years.  She enjoyed reading the bible and watching Christian programs, going on long car rides and spending time with family.  Janet was an active member of her church, Voice of Revival, serving as secretary/treasurer.  She was one who truly loved and worshiped the Lord.  On June 20th 1959, she married Duane Shriber.  They celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Duane Shriber, sons, Michael (Kelly) Shriber, and Brian Shriber,  daughter, Debra Shriber (Shawn Root)., grandchildren, Michaela (Chad) Henry, Levi (Danielle) Shriber and Jaden Parker, great-grandchildren, Paisley, Cole, Sophie, Chloe and Natalie, all of Hastings, brother, Ken (Carolyn) Hubbell, sister, Carolyn Timm, sister-in-law, Ethelyn Hilliker, and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorence and Jessie Hubbell, mother and father-in-law, Bill and Susie Shriber, brother-in-law, Texas Timm and Ruehl Hilliker.

Janet made a huge impact on all that knew her with her loving and nurturing ways, she will be dearly missed by family and friends.  She will always be in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings, Saturday December 22, 2018.  Funeral Services will follow visitation starting at 12:00 noon.  Interment will take place at Rutland Township Cemetery.  Reverend and special friend Ken McCabe will officiate the service.
