Jay Anthony Laxton, age 43 of Hastings was received into the loving arms of Jesus, May 3, 2011. \r
He was born September 2, 1967 in Oneida, TN, the son of Jay and Faye (Ross) Laxton. Jay attended the Grand Rapids schools and Massilon Baptist College in Ohio. He was employed at Ryder Logistics in Lansing for the past 5 years. Jay's purpose in life was to lead others to Christ. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Middleville, Faith Baptist Church in Florida, Mountain Man Ministries and Bus Ministry in Alaska, MI. He was also a youth pastor at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Grand Rapids.\r
Jay enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, trapping and firearms. \r
He is survived by his wife: Mirna Laxton; daughters: Belle and Stephannie, parents: Faye and Dave Clagett of Hastings; sister, Angela Saindon and her husband Daryl and children, David and Brandon Saindon, and Kara Proos of Middleville, Brian, Carrie, Bethany, and Kyle Saindon of Lansing, and Alana Saindon of Grand Rapids.\r
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Middleville, 5215 N. M-37 Hwy, Middleville, MI 49333. Funeral services will follow the visitation, beginning at 12:30 pm, with Pastor Frank Snyder officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services at Irving Township Cemetery. \r
