Jeffrey Dann Brownell, Sr.

Jeffrey Dann Brownell, Sr., age 81, of Freeport, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on November 20, 2021.  Jeffrey was born on January 3, 1940, in Hope Township, Michigan, the son of Robert and Irene (Dann) Brownell.

Jeffrey attended Shultz School and graduated from Hastings High School in 1958.  On February 21, 1959, he married Kathleen Marie Armour, and they enjoyed 62 years together.  Jeffrey worked as a master mechanic most of his life. He was employed at General Motors and Consumers Power, retiring from there after 17 years.

Jeffrey enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his grandkids, car shows and road trips, with a special trip to Alaska with his wife in 2007.  Everywhere Jeffrey went, he always knew somebody – even when travelling.  You could find him anywhere he went, because he always whistled.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Irene Brownell, brother Jerry Brownell, and daughter-in-law Patricia (Minor) Brownell.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, sons Jeff, Jr., Robert, Tim (Mindy) and Brad (SueAnn) Brownell, daughters Teresa (Joe) Garrett and Marjorie (Brian) Aldrich, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and siblings Jon (Brenda) Brownell, Jim Brownell, Jane Barlow, Mary Cotant, Margaret Wellman, Tom Brownell, Ron (Muriel) Brownell, his aunt Georgia Dann and many nieces and nephews .
