Joel S. Ervin, age 41, of Rochester, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Joel was born in Howell, Michigan on October 1, 1975, the son of Kenneth Alan and Linda Rae (Taylor) Ervin.
Joel attended Battle Creek Central High School, graduating in 1993 and also attended Walsh College, graduating in 2000. He was the Operations Director for American Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Joel was a very kind and funny giant of a man, who loved his daughter, his family and all of his friends, both old and new, with all his heart. He also loved anything related to Star Wars, listening to music, animals, Lake Michigan, laughter and helping as many people as he could.
Joel is survived by his daughter Alexis Ardelean of Kalamazoo, MI, parents, Kenneth and Linda Ervin of Hastings, MI, sister, Leslie (Todd) Boonstra of Middleville, nephews, J.P. and Aiden SaintAmour, and step-nephews, Brandon and Troy Boonstra.
The family finds comfort knowing that Joel is free and laughing with Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan, 1312 N. Campbell Rd., Royal Oak, MI 48067, http://www.dsgsemi.org.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10-11 am at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750 S. M-43 Hwy., Hastings, MI 49058. The Memorial Service will follow visitation at 11:00 am. Pastor Jeff Arnett will officiate the service.
