John Orville Kingsbury

John Orville Kingsbury, age 59 of Hastings passed away Sunday, June 16,  2013 at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was born April 6, 1954 in Hastings the son of Orville John and Juanita (Burton) Kingsbury Jr.

John attended Delton Kellogg schools and St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

John honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1975. He was stationed in Germany for a year. John married Corey Billings on August 26, 1995. He was a mechanic. He owned and operated his own business, R&J Auto Service, with Jerry Pennell.

He loved riding motorcycles, and was a retired member of the Road Knights Motorcycle Club. John enjoyed taking things apart, fixing it and putting it back together.

John was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Mary Billings.

He is survived by his wife, Corey, daughter, Teah (Gerrit) Versluys, son, Zane Kingsbury of Holland, grandson, Johnathan, sisters: Rita (Donald) Smith of Delton, Kathy (Jerry) Greenfield of Hastings; brothers: Robert Kingsbury and his fiancé Teresa of Hastings, Ansel (Dawn) Kingsbury of Delton and Clyde Kingsbury of Lansing.

A visitation will take place Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek at 1:00 pm with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help cover final expenses.
