John Arendson Macqueen

John Arendson Macqueen, 82, of Hastings, formerly of Holland, joined his heavenly family on Saturday, February 4, 2012.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Harter Macqueen, and sister, Kathrynne Howell.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Shirley, and children David and Mary Macqueen, Jim and Michelle Visser, Michael and Kim Ter Vree, Greg Macqueen and Gary Snyder, Jeff and Maureen Macqueen, Todd and Kelley Macqueen, and Troy and Robin Macqueen.  John leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.  He was a graduate of Hope College and the General Motors Institute.  Besides being a devoted husband and father, John was a contributing member of the Holland community where he worked for Decker and then DeNooyer Chevrolet for over 60 years.  He also served as a school board member of the West Ottawa Public School District and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
