John Dennis Wright

John D. Wright, age 71, of Nashville, MI passed away January 13, 2010 at home after being hospitalized. \r
Born November 29, 1938 in Galt, Ontario, John was the son of John ?Jack? Wright and Mary Wright (Kelliher). The family moved to Beacon, NY where John attended St. Joachim?s and Beacon High School. During his lifetime, John worked as a police officer for the City of Beacon and as a corrections officer at Matteawan. John married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dill) of Ireland in 1972. Together John and Dorothy ran Donegal Manor Bed and Breakfast and Antique Shoppe in Warrensburg, NY. John had many interests; good jokes, fine food, good friends, coin collecting, animals, fishing, flea markets, and antiques.\r
John was preceded in death by his parents; sister MaryLou Nastasi (Wright); and great grandson A.J Truncali.\r
Surviving John is his loving wife Dorothy of 37 years; their daughter Tara Thrasher (Wright) and her husband Ryan of Lansing, MI; daughter Wendy Biktjorn (Wright) and her husband Gary of Hopewell Jct., NY; Grandaughters Elizabeth Zurawik (Biktjorn) of Newburg, NY and Jamie Truncali (Biktjorn) of Hopewell Jct, NY; Sister Shirley Baltich (Wright) of Wappingers Falls, NY; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren whom are located in New York, Canada, and Ireland. \r
A memorial service will be held in the spring, time and date T.B.D. Memorial contributions can be made payable to the Sparrow Foundation, 111 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48909 in memory of John D. Wright. Arrangements are by the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings, Mi. You may leave a message or memory to the family @ (girrbachfuneralhome.net). \r
