Judith Kay Forsythe

Judith Kay “Judy” Forsythe, 80, passed away on March 2, 2026. She was born on November 22, 1945, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Louis and Ruth (Bayne) Wierenga. A 1964 graduate of Thornapple Kellogg High School, Judy married Carol Forsythe on March 23, 1966, and they shared a loving marriage until his passing in 1994.

Judy lived with a generous heart and a steady, joyful faith. As a devoted Christian and longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church, she was known for her kindness, her readiness to help anyone, and the deep love she had for her family—especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She loved the excitement of stock car and Indy car races, the adventure of traveling, and the peace of tending her garden. She also took great pride in her 30‑year career at United Bank of Michigan, retiring in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carol, and her brothers Rex Palmer, Randy Palmer, and Ron Wierenga.

Judy is survived by her step‑daughter Linda (Carl) Wood; her sons Charles, Carl, and Chris Forsythe; grandchildren Carlind and Cody Forsythe, Faith Smith, April Bang, and Susan McCracken; siblings Louis (Mary) Wierenga, Cindy (Ron) Fales, Mary Lou Gonzales, and Barb (David) Rademacher; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11;00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 2920 S M 37 Hwy. Hastings, MI 49058, with a visitation one hour prior at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hope United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home.
